With the rapid development of communication services, the market demand for transmission capacity has been increasing. The deployment and application of 40G core routers, and bandwidth requirements of new business surged, driving the 40G WDM application in the next few years,40G WDM system equipment will replace the existing 10G WDM system equipment, as in previous years 10G WDM systems equipment to replace equipment as 2.5G WDM system. However,40Gbit/s optical transmission signal made more stringent requirements, the face of the existing 40G WDM transmission system IC design is difficult, OSNR, nonlinear, frequency, dispersion and polarization mode dispersion and other problems, the paper introduces 40G WDM transmission of key technologies, the new China Unicom through a 40G WDM system, the theoretical analysis and experimental network test instruments, clearly demonstrated the feasibility of 40G WDM transmission network and its significance.
