For the detection method of full-color LED large screen, this paper always centers on the idea, that the location algorithm is the basic, luminance & chroma detection algorithm is the core, generating the display parameter correction coefficient table is the final result, to start research work. Through the analysis of human visual inertia, combined with the construction structure of full-color LED large screen and the principle of additive color mixture, this paper explores a kind of new detection method, based on the digital image processing technology, with the research objectives to achieve the display improvement of full-color LED large screen, reduce the maintenance costs, increase the display quality and production efficiency of full-color LED large screen products.This paper mainly includes the following:1. Firstly, based on the analysis of gray distribution for display images of full-color LED large screen, using the method of maximum variance threshold to segment the capture images, and then projection location algorithm is used to achieve the position of each LED pixel. The whole process is to ensure the accurate and effective access to test data;2. The YUV color model is used to analyze the relative luminance values of various LED pixels, to screen and record each LED pixel that luminance are not uniform;3. Using the CIE rg chromaticity coordinate system, the CIE xy chromaticity coordinate system and the D.L.MacAdam's researches on the chroma tolerance measurement principle, the chroma coordinates of each LED pixel are calculated and screened;4. Based on the Statistics of luminance & chroma detection results for each LED pixel, this paper analyzes and consolidates the two results, and generates the LED pixel correction coefficient table.Finally, this paper uses the Visual C++ 6.0 to write the detection programming to test the detection algorithm. Then in order to verify this detection algorithm, this paper uses the AvaSpec-2048 micro-spectrometer to do the same test. Comparing the two results, it shows that this detection method is effective, its processing speed is fast, its processing precision is high and it can greatly improve the detection efficiency and the display quality of full-color LED large screen.
