Multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) technology has attracted exten- sive attention in recent years. It plays an important role and has become the core technology of next generation wireless communication systems. MIMO technology can offer unprecedented data transfer rate and promote channel capacity effectively, without loss of frequency band and transmit power. The combination of beamforming and MIMO technique could further improve system capacity. Some MIMO beamforming schemes have been proposed and applied. Antenna array configurations can significantly influence the performance of MIMO systems which use multi-antenna arrays. In practice, mutual coupling between antenna elements and spatial correlation are factors that can not be ignored in many cases. Simulation analysis of wireless communication systems, which combine MIMO and beamforming tech- nology and consider these factors, could improve simulation accuracy and have important guiding significance for practical application. This paper has studied the techniques of beamforming and antenna configurations in MIMO system, built a complete MIMO system model which include the effects of channel environment, spatial correlation, antenna configurations, antenna matching and mutual coupling, etc. In-depth study of beamforming technique and its application in MIMO system, MIMO antenna design basics and the effects of antenna configurations on system performance. We propose a complete MIMO beamforming scheme and give the Z-parameter and S-parameter analytical method. The system is analyzed and studied by simulation experiments. We obtain a more suitable complete MIMO communication system model for research and analysis. Related analytical methods and conclusions are worth learning for MIMO system modeling and practical analysis.
