Traditional animation process include literature, designing the roles, creating the story script, drawing the background, drawing the key frames, Inbetweening, testing, scanning lines, coloring, checking, shooting and post-production steps, during which there is a large number of tedious manual labor. Interactive animation aimed to generate an effective practical semi-automated Animation System, in witch the assistant of Computer perfectly combined with manual work. Automatic plot extraction is an important part of the interactive animation system. The main research object is to automatically or semi-automatically converted he story of a natural language text to structured scene description, and make the script generation, and animation more efficient and convenient. The target of this paper is about the story plot extraction, which is part of the high-performance interactive animation technologies and system. The main work is to use natural language processing techniques to extract information that is needed in animation from story texts. This information includes: roles, props, scenes, etc. Plot extraction results will be used to construct the creation of shooting script, scenes and roles modeling, character animation, it also related to the construction and management of materials library. The contributions of this paper reside in the following aspects:1. The foundation of plot extraction from children's story is the research and analysis of the children's story itself. The author analyzes examples a number of children's stories to summarize their characteristics and proposed algorithm and processes for plot extraction according to their special characteristics and the needs of this task.2. The author presents a model of formalized script which is based on the story text. The model consists of two levels: first is description level, translating children's stories text to a formalized description through natural language processing technology; second is the script level, mapping the formalized description to formalized script.
