The main tasks of GSM network optimization focuses on analysis and adjusts network parameters, which ensures stable network and nice customer feeling. With the fast expansion of network scale, the network optimization becomes more difficult. In order to find the influence of cell coverage environment change to station in time, not only the road test work increase quickly, but also the frequency of test rise rapidly.According the issue of mobile communications network optimization, this thesis focus on the study of following aspects:Firstly, we compare the GSM network optimization methods, and propose a network optimization method based on Timing Advance, which get customer distribution by the call amount. We use incremental update algorithm to process the performance data of GSM network, which improve the efficiency of data analysis.Secondly, we study the distribution characteristic of network data, use normal distribution model and mahalanobis distance to process the abnormal performance data, which makes data analysis more exact. We also bring up optimize suggestion on the basis of analysis result.Finally, we design and implement the coverage optimization system of mobile communication network. The system is based on Client/Server architecture, which make up of data collection server and web server.The research results indicated that the network coverage optimization system can collect the real-time network data stably, and use normal distribution model and mahalanobis distance to process the data. According to the optimize suggestions, the efficiency and quality of network have been highly enhanced.
