Eddy current sensor as a new type of displacement sensor has advantages of good reliability, wide measuring range, high sensitivity, high resolution, fast response, preferable anti-interference ability and small size. Eddy current displacement sensor can be used to measure displacement, vibration, temperature, flaw detection, size and so on. The measuring accuracy and working stability are important to ensure work performance and quality control. However, the eddy current sensor calibration at home and abroad are mostly manually, which have shortcoming of less measuring point and big error.A static calibration system for eddy current sensor based on Visual Basic and C8051F350 was proposed. The program of down-level machine is developed by assembly language and the applied program of up-level machine is realized by VB.The system consists of four parts:static calibration table, microcontroller data collection, RS232 interface circuit and PC data processing software have carried on the detailed introduction. The paper studies hardware structure, software processes, friendly man-machine interface, analysis on calibration data, the optimal linear fitting method, solving method of linear region, analysis on static characteristics.Compared with the traditional manual method, this system has the advantage of high precision, much measuring points, simple structure and easy operation. Experiments testify the reliability, accuracy and stability of the auto-calibration method. The optimal fitting curve has been obtained, which can reduce the linearity and improve the sensor's performance.
