Research Of Chinese Zero Anaphora Resolution

Chinese zero anaphora resolution is an important research topic in coreference resolution, therefore, many problems related to the application of coreference resolution also involves the issue of Chinese zero anaphora resolution, for example, in the Chinese text summarization, machine translation and many other areas.This thesis analyzed and summarized the existing Chinese zero anaphora resolution techniques in depth. Firstly, refer to the problem of lack of Chinese zero anaphora Corpus, it marks the sentences of the CTB manually, and constructs a base-corpus. Then it analyzed two-phase of Chinese zero anaphora resolution in depth and realized them. At last, Chinese zero anaphora resolution is applied to the platform of the Chinese Coreference resolution.According to the character of the Chinese zero anaphora relying on context information, at the first phase, namely, the phase of Zero Pronouns Recognition, it researched the importance of the structure information in Chinese zero anaphora resolution. Because the basic corpus is hand-annotated, it also presents a baseline system based on rules, with which we can compares. Experimental results show that the recognition rate of the approach based on tree kernel is better than the one of the System based on rules.In the stage of Chinese zero anaphora resolution, this thesis mainly took the anpproach based on tree kernel, and research the affect of three different policies to get syntax structure tree to the recognition of system. Then it discussed the affect of the zero pronouns detection and zero pronouns recognition to Chinese zero anaphora resolution.At last, the thesis investigated the affact of Chinese zero anaphora to Chinese coreference resolution preliminarily according to Chinese coreference resolution as the application background.
