With the fast development of digital multimedia and internet technology, it is very convenient of image video and audio products to be created, stored and transmitted. But information security becomes increasingly prominent, while the advantages of digital watermarking technology can be used as a solution to copyright protection, modification authentication, receipt checking and mark hiding.This paper is on the basis of analyzing the MP3 encoding and decoding process, to work out a method of embedding and extracting watermark in a MP3 audio file, the main work is as follows:(1) On the study of MP3 encoding and decoding, The author concludes that the watermark can be embedded and extracted only in the modified discrete cosine transform and quantization.(2) In the proposed algorithm, watermark bit has been embedded into the least significant bit of scale factors of MP3 audio files. Meanwhile, the watermarking algorithm is computing fast and watermarks can be embedded in real time with good transparency. Also the algorithm can resist attacks to the main audio data, making the algorithm useful in copyright protection. And watermarks can be extracted without the original audio file and the original watermarks.(3) MP3 watermarking software with simple interface and operation buttons has been developed. It includes basic audio operating functions such as play, pause and stop. And watermarks can be embedded in MP3 audio files in real-time.Experimental results show the advantages of the proposed algorithm are:it has good imperceptibility, and watermarks can be embedded in real-time requirements to meet the actual application before publishing the MP3 files for copyright protection.
