Military named entity recognition is the precondition of analyzing and understanding military information and the more important basic work of the military information processing. In which military organization name recognition plays a very important role. The accurate identification of military organization name is crucial to military information retrieval and information extraction.In this paper an efficient military organization name recognition system has been implemented, in the basis of further research and analysis on the military text.Military organization name is divided into simple organization name and complicated organization name according to the structure of military organization name. And a method based on the cascaded CRFs model to recognize military organization name is presented.First, the simple organization name is recognized in the first level with CRFs. Then, the results are used to support the recognition of complicated organization name in the second level. Last, the simple and complicated organization name recognition results are combined together.In the second level we proposed two methods to recognize complicated organization name. In the first method, we use SVM to decide the right boundary of a complicated organization name, and then use CRFs to tag the organization former structure. In the second method, firstly, we build the characteristic credibility model and former word credibility model, and then combine the credibility information into CRFs to tag the organization name.Lastly, we also analyze the abbreviation military organization name and built a rule model to recognize it simply.Experimental results show our method of military organization name recognition is effective. In the open test, the precision, recall rate and F-measure reach 93.34%,92.28% and 93.30% respectively.
