The Design And Implementation Of The Student Course Selection And Credit Performance Management System

The management system of student course selection and credit score is a part of educational management system, and the development of the system has the profound significance to promote the school administration and the student level.However, there are many shortcomings of the traditional artificial way of management document file for student course selection records of the partial private colleges, for example:the low efficiency and the poor security. The use of traditional C/S structure management has brought many difficulties to the updating and the maintenance and cannot meet the requirements of the development of the management system of student course selection and credit score.Yantai Nanshan University is a full-time undergraduate course university, which has more than 30,000 students. The student course selection of Yantai Nanshan University based on full credit elective provides the biggest independent studying space for the student. Therefore, the management system of student course selection and credit score play a very import role to provide convenience for students' choosing courses and finding score as well as teachers' teaching management and the achievement input. Especially the recent several years, the expanded of the enrollment scale of universities and the increasing of course categories have meant more work for collection, transmission, storage and query of courses information and multiplied work for management. The partial existing management system that based on C/S structure have poor maintenance and performance for the two campus of Nanshan and Donghai of Yantai Nanshan University, and brought the complicated manual and bad management to managers. Therefore, to design a practical system of course selection and credit score is especially important for meeting the development requirements of teaching management of Nanshan University. The paper designs a set system of student course selection and credit score based on the B/S structure to enhance the efficiency of student management.The system according to the actual needs of Yantai Nanshan University,starting from the logical structure of each module to design and functional features make the system interface and function design ideas very clear and easy to maintain and extend open.The system divides into the administration module, the student chooses class module and the teacher result administration module. The administration module is used to add, search, delete and modify the information of teachers and students. The student chooses the elective course which this semester/school year needs to study, views the information of the chose curriculum, the curriculum result and credit score through this system. The teacher views the information of teaching curriculum, the classroom, the time and modifies personal information through this system. The teacher also gives the corresponding result, examines situation of any course selection, produces and prints the student name register and completes to the daily course management, including required course and elective course.In the system characteristic and the innovation aspect, the paper proposed a program of Web application design proposal based on Struts and Hibernate the construction J2EE to meet the actual demand of the teacher curriculum and the school grades result management. The paper discussed the Struts frame to take the lightweight development skeleton technology as well as the stratification structure with emphasis. The system structure based on components is clear, load balancing and easy to maintain and has the good extension. The development of the system has not purely use JSP+ Servlet, but unified Struts and Hibernate which cause the system structure clearer and simplify system's development work.
