In recent years, with the growing demand in the literature of art, artistic design becomes the third largest major following computer science and economics management. In China, more than 700 universities have set up majors for artistic design, and the directions including visual communication design, environmental artistic design, dyeing and garment design, industrial design, animation design and so on. The purpose is to cultivate applied design talents who are engaged in relevant artistic design and proficiently master modern design techniques. However, many factors bring much higher pressure to the education of students major in artistic design, and these factors include the uniqueness of the discipline, the large-scale enrollment expansion, the refinement of professional categories, the constraints of teaching resources, and the outdated teaching model. It has become an important task for artistic design education in higher vocational colleges.This system is implemented for the department of artistic design in Electric and Mechanical school. It's an internal study cooperation platform which is developed through analyzing the professional educational characteristics and development demands of the artistic design department. The system is also a complement and development of classroom teaching. The system applies learning resources and aiding methods in order to realize the effective learning-and-guiding interaction between teachers and students, to enhance the active communication and collaboration among students, and to efficiently mobilize the enthusiasm and initiative of teaching and learning. The system is assistant parts out of classroom teaching and plays a positive role.This system is based on cloud computing service provided by Google Inc. It integrates many application services such as Google Apps, and provides the department of artistic design with a practical, convenient and low-cost teaching aided system which is quick to develop and easy to expand. This paper starts from analyzing demands, and it describes the functions of each module, including public information, personal affairs, public services, learning resources management. It also expounds how to run Google Apps for system design and development, and how to use Google API and Data API to interact with Google Apps and other application services. At the end, this paper explores the trend of the assistant teaching system in the future.
