| Panorama is an image with a wide-angle views. It can be taken with special cameras; it can also be constructed through image alignment techniques from regular hand-held cameras. The technique to create panoramas is among the hottest topics in field of IBR (Image Based Rendering).Panorama generation, also called image stitching or image mosaic, has been studied for a long time. Because of its variety and complexity, it has been studied widely. In the first chapter of this paper we mention past results of other's research, and then describe almost all the techniques used in the process of automatic panorama generation. With previous research, we build a system based on cubic panoramas, it is to calibrate and view cubic panoramas. The second part of this paper is the basic knowledge of the panorama. The main contents contain all the main generation technology, several kinds of projection models and images. Goal is to let readers to understand the panorama better. The third part of the paper is self-calibration algorithm of the cubic panorama. As the cube model inherent easily stored, easily rendering, these characteristics of the cubic panorama in the paper give system can be very good from a single image. We use three groups of paralleled lines which had known their ratios to calibrate the camera. At the same time the quadrilateral composed by the paralleled lines are right angle trapezoid or isosceles trapezoid. At the same time, we can easily derive the fundamental matrixes and essential matrixes between the images of the cubic and is much simpler to other projection model. The fourth chapter of the paper is the technology of cubic panorama browsing. We draw on existing cube algorithms, enhance the speed at the same time gives a very good anti-aliasing algorithm, making panoramic browsing more rapid, the image more clearly. Finally we conclude the work we done and make some room for improvement. |
