Virtual reality technology is an integrated information technology, virtual reality is to use the computer to present the real world, we are personally on the scene. It involves computer graphics, computer simulation, artificial intelligence and other discipline, It is widely used in medicine, education, games, military and other fields.With the rapid development in the computer graphics, the demand of vision produced by computer becomes higher, not only the authenticity and interaction. in the three-dimensional virtual scene particularly flight simulator, television advertising, computer games and military drill, the simulation of natural phenomena plays a very important role. on computer graphics, in order to increase the authenticity of the the three-dimensional virtual scene and improve interaction with the virtual world, the researchers have come up with many ways of natural phenomena, including the modeling based on process and physical. cloud is a very complex phenomenon of nature, its shape is inordinance and arbitrariness, the simulation of three-dimensional cloud has become the most challenging one. Simulation of three-dimensional-cloud has two important aspect, including modeling and rendering. the modeling give us realistic effects, rendering can improve rendering efficiency, that is, to ensure reality, while minimizing the time of rendering, the researchers have done a lot of works and achieved some results in the two areas.This thesis studies the modeling, the light model and rendering. according to the features of cumulus clouds, this thesis uses a method based on particle system and proposes a modeling that can approximate the interaction of light and the clouds scattered light, not only added to the third dimension but also improve operation efficiency. in order to increase the speed of this render, this thesis uses the impostor technology to accelerate the speed and gives the result of experiment and analysis. and finishes roaming of the three-dimensional scene. the last, we interpreted the layout of this paper, and pointed out the insufficiencies and innovation.
