Two out of two interlocking systems have been widely used in real-time railway related system control area for more than ten years. It's innovative ideas and methods on system structure, fault-security strategy, network communications, etc, make interlocking and attemperring more easier to achieve. The two out of two interlocking systems used in China are mainly special-purpose clock-synchronization computers, which need for specialized circuit design. It is expensive, and the system clock frequency is not high enough (means low computing power),can only meet low-load operation system's requirements. With the rapid development of information technology for railway related system. There are much higher computing power demands. Therefore, the use of high speed and cost-effective multipurpose computer in interlocking system design, seems extremely important. It is a hot topic and research focus.This article is focused on design and implementation of two out of two interlocking system based on multipurpose computer, including system architecture,data checking for comparison, data reuse strategy etc,and reliable transmission based on UDP protocol.The author consults the principle of traditional computer-based two out of two interlocking system, programmed to achieve a function consistent system. Since the data transmission require high level of real-time and reliability, the TCP protocol does not fit.Using the ACE toolkit, the author designed and implemented reliable data transmission based on UDP protocol, which has a shorter timeout to ensure that retransmission of data in real-time system, and also improve the reliability. My work of trying to design a new interlocking system is a new solution for dealing with ever-increasing computing demands of railway application.
