In this Paper we will introduce a technology which we can reassemble a large collection of irregular image fragments as a complete object with the assistance of computers. The technology is being used in several filed. such as Archaeological Science, Security detection and Medical Image Processing. If we reassemble a large collection of irregular image fragments together only by hand, We will waste a lot of time and energy and We may not be able to get some good results. So, the research of Reassembling unknowing broken objects is very important in the field of theory and practice. This paper introduces the specific processes of Reassembling unknowing broken objects from a large collection of irregular 2-D image fragments. We focus on the methods of pretreatment and reassembly of image fragments. In this paper, a boundary Freeman chain-code tracing method is used to extract the contour information. The first-order differential of Freeman chain-code is used in image fragments matching method. The optimized data of Freeman chain-code can reduces the time and space complexity. It is simple and easy to implement. At last, the image fragments based on Freeman chain-code are reassembled with program of Matlab. Results show that the proposed method is sample and efficient.
