In modern communications, Frequency-hopping communication has good features of anti-interference, anti-fading, anti-multipath and LPI, so it has great development in military field when it appeared. JTIDS/Link16 is the typical Tactical Data Link of U.S. Army which use frequency-hopping, so it is of great importance that research on frequency-hopping signal in the field of communication countermeasure. Precise location for target plays a significant role in military and civilian systems, we focuses on the time-difference localization in this paper, especially abstracting the time-difference, in the mean time does MATLAB simulation on time-difference estimation with Generalized Cross-correlation and Higher-order Cumulant. In the practical project, we can estimate the time-difference of frequency-hopping signal with channelizing method, usually we make frequency hopping time as a reference point to measure TOA of frequency-hopping signal, which can be implemented in FPGA. With the development of FPGA with large capacity and high performance, and improved algorithm, the precision of time-difference estimation of frequency-hopping signal will be more higher.
