Acupotomology is a medical method which is aim to soft tissue injury disease and bone and joint disease. It is a closed surgery, so it can reduce pain and sequel. As a closed surgery, the acupotomy operation is a blindness operation. Experienced surgeon even familiar with anatomy may damage the nerves, blood vessels, tendons and other important organs when carrying out acupotomy operation. Therefore, the visualization of acupotomy therapy has become the inevitable trend of Acupotomology's development.Although Acupotomology has experienced more than thirty years of development, but the research of visualization of acupotomy therapy has just been started. Nowadays acupotomy doctor mainly diagnose by observing a series of slices of CT, MRI or US images. It mainly depends on the doctors'experiences in reading slices and maybe gets qualitative information. Currently there is no software system which is used to the visualization of Acupotomology in china. In this paper, We design and implement a powerful software system which can be used to analyzing lesions, surgical navigation, surgical planning and virtual surgery based on advanced medical imaging equipment and technology, computer graphics and image processing technology. It can improve the safety of acupotomy surgery; realize the visualization of acupuncture therapy; overcome the limitations of Blindness operating and enhance the effect of acupuncture therapy.This paper mainly focuses on the key techniques of visualization of acupuncture therapy: the Pre-Processing technology of medical image, three-dimensional reconstruction of medical image, medical image registration, besides, a diagnosis and virtual surgery system is implemented based on the research.The remarkable contribution and work completed in this paper include:1) Investigate DICOM standard and decoding technology, implement reading, analyzing DICOM image and transforming DICOM image to BMP image; Pre-Processing technologies including grey-scale transformation and noise elimination are presented.2) The three-dimension reconstruction algorithm based on medical image is analyzed,including Surface-based Rendering and Voxel-based Rendering. Research on the Principle and rendering pipeline of Marching Cubes algorithm, aim at the huge amounts of triangle Patches after surface rendering, we have made the improvement to original algorithm by using Patch diminution and smoothing surface technology. And the reconstruction results and the rendering speed are greatly improved; implement ray cast volume rendering algorithm, 2D texture mapping algorithm and 3D texture mapping algorithm, elaborate their respective advantages, disadvantages and applications.3) This thesis studies medical image registration, design and implements an interactive global linear registration algorithm based on 3D affine transformation; and implements an interactive Local nonlinear registration algorithm based on Thin-plate spline interpolation, and we have made the improvement to this algorithm by using simplified grid, the speed are greatly improved while the registration results are still very good.4) The three-dimensional reconstruction of medical image technology and medical image registration technology are introduced into the area of cultural heritage protection at the first time, and a highly flexible Windows based diagnosis and virtual surgery system is implemented.
