The method of measuring moisture content of coal based on standing-wave ratio and Time Domain Reflectometry were put forward in this paper. Because the permittivity of coal was influenced by the temperature and degree of compaction of coal, and there was a complicated nonlinear relationship among the moisture content of coal, permittivity, temperature and degree of compaction, the Least Squares Support Vector Machine and Partial Least-Squares Regression based on Cubic Spline function were used to establish the measurement model of moisture content of coal. The parametersγand (?)2 were important to the quality of model, so Particle Swarm Optimization were used to optimize the two parameters and then established the model. The results showed that the model using least squares support vector machine had better measurement accuracy and generalization ability, could reflected the nonlinear relationship among the moisture content of coal, temperature, degree of compaction and permittivity better.
