The development of mobile communication has already experienced analog communication, digital communication and now the third generation of mobile communication system which based on the CDMA technology (Referred to as 3G). The 3G comes to be the researching and developing hotspot of world's major communication carriers and device producers because of its unique advantages. CDMA2000, WCDMA and TD-SCDMA are three mainstream technologies applied in the 3G.The CDMA2000 technology, develops from the IS-95 system, considers the backward compatibility with the IS-95 system as far as possible during the design procedure. And the CDMA2000-1X is the first stage of the development of the CDMA2000 mobile communication system. This thesis has mainly researched on the CDMA2000-1X forward channel transmission technology.FSK, PSK, QAM and OFDM (orthogonal frequency division multiplexing) are common modulation technologies used in mobile communication system. However, OFDM has the most promising among them. Professor Liang Dequn has put forward the Time Shift Non-Orthogonal Multi-Modulation Technology (Referred to as TS-NMT). The TS-NMT, which eliminated the limits of orthogonal, has the compactness in time field and frequency field. This makes TS-NMT become the modulation technology which has the most frequency band efficient now.In order to make TS-NMT practical, former graduate students had already done simulation research about TS-NMT in wired channel and wireless channel, and proved its feasibility and advancement. The purpose of this thesis is to compare the transmission performances of TS-NMT and CDMA2000 in wireless channel.This thesis has used MATLAB simulation tools to simulate the wireless channels of TS-NMT and CDMA2000-1X in the "same conditions", analyzed and compared the performances of them. As is shown in the simulation statistics, the information transmission efficiency of TS-NMT is higher than that of CDMA2000-1X. This thesis has introduced CDMA2000 mobile communication system and the principle of TS-NMT modulation and demodulation. What's more, it also introduced the wireless communication environment. Finally, the CDMA-TS-NMT the combination of TS-NMT and CDMA2000 is mentioned. After the preliminary analysis, the combination of two technologies is feasible.
