Research On Precision Fiber Coupling System

The coupling of laser with fiber has been widely used in industry, medical, communications, military and many other fields with its unique approach. The technique of fiber coupling used in the compound eyes system for signal reception and processing part of the connection, greatly enhanced the flexibility and practicality of the system.In this paper, based on the theory of fiber optics, the ways of laser-fiber coupling were analysed, the laser-fiber coupling conditions and losses in many coupling methods were calculated and deduced, a precise fiber coupling system has been disigned and processed, which had smaller mechanical alignment and stabile performance. After that, the fiber end face was disposed by the method of nick-snap and cooling-cut, 79% coupling efficiency was obtained in the experiments. The coupling between the fiber array and optical compound eyes receiving system was high efficiency and more stable. At the same time, by using of Nd: YAG 1064nm laser as light source, the far-field laser signal detection experiments has been completed successfully.
