High-power side-pumped 1064nm TEM00 laser,continuous-wave 532nm laser and Q-switched 355nm laser are studied in this paper.Firstly,approaches to get high power IR laser are summarized,and comparison of the advantages and disadvantages is made among them.Methods and progress of obtaining high power CW green laser and UV laser are presented.The principles of dynamic stable resonators are reviewed,and ABCD law is applied to investigate the generic resonator.The mathematic model of cavity design is abstracted,and the Merit Function is defined.Then,the computer-aided numerical optimization of laser resonator is introduced in.According to principles of laser resonator,cavity comprising a single side-pumped rod is designed;30.6W TEM00 mode 1064nm CW laser is obtained.Then,a new design method of dual-rod cavity which is based on symmetry principle was put forward,and 47.9W TEM00 laser is obtained.Computer-aided numerical optimization of laser cavity is implemented,with the nonlinear least-squares algorithm.With this method,a Z-type cavity for intra-cavity SHG is designed,and 13.3W CW green laser is obtained with a side-pumped module and a KTP crystal.A compact linear cavity for intra-cavity THG is designed,and features of this resonator are investigated thoroughly.Then,the experiment of THG is demonstrated with a side-pumped module and two LBO crystals;3.3W 355nm UV laser is obtained at 6.5 KHz repetition rates.At last,results of these experiments are analyzed and concluded,and the plan for the next step is made.
