Digital interactive exhibition, working as an effective means of museum exhibition, has been applied more extensively and deeply in recent years. Various kinds of interaction devices and technology emerge constantly and bring users excellent visiting experience. On the one hand, several exhibition devices have been put in use in order to improve exhibition effect, while how to interact conveniently and effectively under large area exhibition environment is really an issue in digital heritage exhibition. On the other hand, the systems are required to be adopted conveniently, maintained easily and relatively cheap in practical interactive exhibition application, which will be popularized without difficult.According to the demand of convenience, validity and low-price of large area interactive exhibition, this paper propose a large exhibition area oriented interactive exhibition approach. Using this approach, the visitor can interact with the system without wearing or operating any devices, but swinging the arms. In order to improve the accuracy of motion analysis, a camera with infrared filter was introduced, which make the system ignore the projected images, so the motion computation would be much easier. Also, optical flow approach is adopted to analyze the motion, in order to get the direction and speed of every pixels moved, and then, the interaction instructions is generated. Take the exhibition of Dunhuang mural as an example, the system realizes the interactive exhibition of high precision murals.In addition, in order to reduce the difficulty of management and maintenance of interaction devices for exhibition halls, this paper also proposes a hand-held device based interactive exhibition approach. At present, hand-held devices which have good show and interaction effect, which makes them suitable as interaction and exhibition platform. In order to reduce the performance constraints, this paper utilizes FAST as feature extraction approach, which had good real-time performance, and adopts feature tracking strategy to improve real-time performance further more. Meanwhile, we make the feature description generated has invariance to scale, rotation and illumination.
