A major challenge in the operation of wireless CDMA communication systems is the efficient use of radio resources. Power control technology is one of the key technologies of the 3rd generation mobile system.It can decide the covering scope and capability of system.The aim of power control is to adjust the transmit power fast according to mobile environment,so it can make the communication quality keep on a certain level and not make too much disturb on other users.This paper briefly describes the traditional means of communication power control technology: reverse power control and forward power control, centralized power control and distributed power control, open loop power control, closed-loop power control and outer loop power control. It also introduced power control technology which based on the game theory and joint power control technology in CDMA system. In recent years, Foschini and Miljanic proposed FMA algorithm, while Zekeriya Uykan and Heikki proposed the ratio of power control algorithm. This paper proposed binary feedback power control algorithm which based on previous research results. Most of the power control algorithms used numerical algebraic approach in the past. While the binary feedback power control algorithm establishes mathematical models which based on stochastic approximation theory, link gain with time-varying and random estimation error of the mobile communication system. Both theory analysis and numerical simulations show that binary feedback power control algorithm is more robust than FMA and proportional power control algorithm.
