Self-embedding technology is an important part of information hiding technology, and it can be used in many fields, such as recovery of the lost data which is lost while being transmitted through the web, protection of important evidence is another example. In a word, both theoretical research and applied research based on this technology make sense.MP3 is the most popular format of digital audio file, and it is used widely, so it becomes more and more important to protect the intellectual property rights of MP3 audio files. Deeply hiding algorithms researching based on, this paper presents the research of MP3 self-Embedding method. Specific tasks as follows:1. Present a method of self-embedding of MP3 files. To achieve the final goal, this method embeds the compressed copy file into the original one's MDCT coefficients with the help of LSB and matrix hiding algorithms.2. To improve the conflict between the embedding capacity and audio quality, different hiding algorithms are used in big value MDCT and small value MDCT coefficients, and the embedding capacity increases. Besides, the copy file is compressed by the means of reducing sample to reduce the data quantity.3. Finished an experimental software system of MP3 self-embedding which contains embedding module, information module, destroy module and recover module. The software system ran well and all the experiments of this paper were demonstrated on this system.We demonstrate the self-embedding method on the plat of Windows xp sp2 and VC++6.0. Results tell that the destroyed file can be recovered to a certain extent, and we got satisfied experiment results.
