The technology of distance-measurement, which is based on binucolar stereo vision,is an essential offset of computer stereo vision,and has always been the key and hotspot in this field.Since it is similar with human eyes,such as better speed and precision of distance-measurement than before, it is widely used for workpiece examination and object identifying.However,this technology needs a high quality of the system,so it is difficult to make it portative.Consequently,this text designs a system which is based on embedded technology and Linux ,and it could be considered as a new attempt to make the technology portative.Firstly,the text gives a fully introduction on the theory of how to measure the distance by binucolar stereo vision,and then considering the principle of low cost and high performance,it introcuces how to make appropriate choices of hardware and software for this system and gives the whole design of the system.Secondly,the codes of video capture and displaying separate video in the same LCD are written and edited,and the height of horizontal scan lines in graphics we got from the two cameras is changed to be the same. By digital image processing algorithms such as gray deal, Gauss Laplace, marks of the two graphics are got,and the first step of three-dimensional match is realized.Thirdly, according to the pairs of marks,the second step of three-dimensional match is realized and the codes of how to measure the distance were written.Meanwhile,the codes which are used to display the final data result are finished.Then,the whole system is completed by transplanting and debugging. Finally, various advantages and shortages are summarized, relative error and absolute error are analyzed and a way for further investigation is provided.
