Microscale wind field detection has great importance in increasing aircraft taking off or landing and space shuttle launch or landing operations safety, increasing airport capacity, improving wind turbine efficiency and so on. The traditional wind detection methods can't meet the requirements of microscale wind detection. Currently, only direct detection Doppler lidar is able to directly measure three-dimensional wind field with high accuracy, high temporal and spatial resolution in the global region.In this paper, on the basis of the basic principles and practical engineering, the Doppler lidar system for microscale wind shear-field detection is studied. The system uses aerosol as detecting target, using Fabry-Perot etalon based dual-edge direct detection technology and PPI scan mode to achieve microscale wind shear-field detection. The overall structure of the system is designed and it's key parameters, especially the frequency discriminator—Fabry-Perot etalon parameters are optimized. Finally, the wind shear-field retrieval method is introduced and the overall performance of the designed system is analyzed by using the designed parameters of each unit. The numerical simulation results show that under the weather conditions of the visibility greater than 10km, the wind speed accuracies of this Doppler lidar system are better than 0.9m/s from 0 to 8km range, which can achieve the detection guideline. Finally, The wind shear-detection performance of the designed Doppler lidar system is analyzed by using Monte-Carlo method, which validates the wind shear detection capability of this lidar system. The designed and studied results have reference value for the actual system setting up.
