In this paper,based on the introduction of Ad Hoc technology and the analysis of existing Ad Hoc routing schemes, an innovative QoS routing algorithm for small scale Ad Hoc network is brought forward, namely QoS Dynamic Source Routing(QoS DSR).QoS DSR reuses the architecture of Dynamic Source Routing(DSR),which has been widely put in use in various mobile set for small scale Ad Hoc network, while providing several features, such as to limit the area of flooding with access control and to guarantee QoS with resource reservation. Moreover,detailed message flows and corresponding operations in source nodes,intermediate nodes and destination nodes are also presented in this paper.Furthermore, to prove the validity and efficiency of QoS DSR, simulations and the compare with traditional DSR are made.Actually,QoS DSR is proved to have a higher packet delivery ratio, and a lower control packet load for the network.Besides pure theoretic research,whether the scheme presented in this paper can be put in practice is considered a lot.Therefore, QoS DSR is designed to be a simple one in implementation, while possessing the capability of QoS. The requirements on the mobile sets to support this Ad Hoc QoS mechanism are stated in this paper. In the end, issues for further study are also pointed out.
