Research On The Scheduling Strategy Of Meta Search Engine And Results Ranking Algorithm

With the vigorous development of the Internet, The information resources in Internet at a geometric series speed increase. The emergence of the search engine help many Internet users find their wanted information quickly. The users save a lot of time to find information in giant network. However, the coverage of the single search engine begins to decline with the network information increase quickly. In order to improve the search region, the meta search engine was born. The meta search engine adopts these existing search engines'query ability, regards them as an integral whole, provides a uniform interface for the users and returns the results. This paper presents a comprehensive analysis based on the current situation of the domestic and international research about the technology of the ranking of meta search engine and the problem about how to enhance the precision of meta search engine needs further researches.Firstly, we introduce some basic and related knowledge about the search engine and the meta search engine, then analysis the existing necessity and current limitations of Meta search engine in foundation of this. Considered the query information of the user is limited, a method of query expansion is proposed. Using this method to expand the query words of the users, and then select a few expanded words which are the most closed to the query words. These expanded words are sent to the meta search engine which according to some sort of algorithm return the results to the users.Secondly, the scheduling strategy of the meta search engine is the key technology of the meta search engine. In the foundation of introducing some scheduling algorithm which are appeared, one kind new scheduling strategy of meta search engine is proposed. This strategy is proceeded from the system and the user, the system select a few search engines which are considered important by the system according to some algorithms, the user subjectively select a few good professional search engines, then according to this method to invoke some component search engines.Lastly, to the problem about how to improve the precision of the meta search engine, in the foundation of introducing some main results merging algorithms, one kind of new about results merging method based on the combination of position and snippets/title is proposed, Using this method to merge the results of meta search engine, at last, through the experiment to validate the effectiveness of this method which is proposed by us.
