Various studies show that wireless sensor networks will enjoy broad developing prospects and that it will be the research focus of the next generation network. However, the limit of sensor networks in computing, storage and energy supply has brought big challenges to its reliable data transmission of wireless sensor networks. At present, data redundancy to ensure reliable data transmission is the main method of transmission, which necessarily has gradually led erasure codes into the people's vision.This paper deals with several erasure codes commonly used today and discuss data transmission mechanisms in wireless sensor networks. It discusses in detail RS codes structure principle and analyses two kinds of construction methods of RS codes, which is based on Vandermonde and the Cauchy matrix. And it studies a number of structural problems of Tornado codes as well as the encoding and decoding principle and analyses the degree distribution which is based on its bipartite graph model. Guidelines of key values parameters of Tornado codes are given out in the paper based on simulation. It also discusses in detail the structure of the fountain codes principle, does some further analyses about the degree distribution of LT codes and illustrates the ripple effect on the decoding performance through the simulation. It tells the reader how it understands TinyOS embedded operating system and its communication mechanism of wireless sensor networks. By using the nesC programming language, it has realized the above codes. With the TOSSIM simulation platform, which is based respectively on single-hop and multi-hop constructive network topological graph, it has completed a wireless sensor network data transmission simulation. The results showed that, after using the erase codes can reduce the network load while increasing the reliability of data transmission.
