Dike project is one of the important flood control projects, it's stability is an important guarantee for people's lives and property. And the consequent deformation and movement are apparent signs that indicate the damage of embankment dams. Therefore, the movement or settlement monitoring of the embankment dams from the point of view of the security consideration is vital. Being different from the previous point monitoring mode and array sensing monitoring mode, distributed optical fiber sensing technology is an advanced technology attracting more attentions all over the world because of its advantages such as immunity to electromagnetic interference, anti-combustion, explosion-proof, corrosion resistance, with the high-power transmission ability for bandwidth signal. Distributed sensing configuration avoids miss collecting signal covering former blind areas as well as is helpful to improve the accuracy of the measurement of the movement monitoring for the embankment dams.Based on the distributed optical fiber sensing technology, the deformation of the deformation monitoring on a spur dike by The Yellow River in Henan province is studied in this paper. The paper contains following contents:1. The status of the research for the spur dike in our country and abroad is comprehensive analysised, the internal structure of the Yellow River dams is introduced, the causes of spur dike's deformation is discussed..2. The sensing principle of the distributed optical fiber is briefly introduced, and the data flow diagram is analyzed. The monitoring system based on the DiTeSt distributed optical fiber sensing and monitoring instrument is constructed. And the data flow diagram is analyzed. The Function modules of the monitoring system software is designed.3. The programs of the sensor's laying are studied, and the structure of the equipment in the corresponding program is designed. Focus on a new type detecting deformation tube based on distributed optical fiber sensing , the structure is designed. The theory formula, ie, the relationship between the sensing fiber's strain and the settlement of the new type detecting deformation tube based on distributed optical fiber sensing is given.4. The vertical stretching of the fiber is studied, The elasticity coefficient of the sensing fiber which is used in the following experiment is determined by experimental means. Thus the length of the sensing part of the detecting deformation tube based on distributed optical fiber sensing is determined.5. Based on the programs of the sensor's laying, the simulation model of the embankment dam is seted up. The experiment research on the test of the spur dike's pressure is carried out, and the test results is analysised.
