Detection technology plays an important role in the research of unknown areas. In automation area, the mission of detection technology is not only to check up and measure the finished products or semi-finished products, but also to monitor and control all the producing processes or moving objects to insure them at the best condition, and the check and measure to the parameters should be done at any moment. In recent years, with the rapid developing of automation, computer, information, interface and network technologies, the intelligent level of detection systems are also getting higher and higher. The data gathered by the detection system always have the characteristics of hugeness, random and uncertainty, and the law generation processes of the detection results always have the dynamic characteristic. Being restricted by classical mathematics, the random characteristic is usually ignored when studying the dynamic characteristic of detection systems, so the analysis to the detection results is usually restricted. Rough set theory was firstly proposed by a Polish mathematician Z.Pawlak in 1982, which is a new mathematic implement used to solve incompletion and imprecision problems, and it gets the knowledge by data reduction using equivalent relation and approximation concept. Rough set knowledge system is based on rule, which is a conclusion about experience and doesn't need the exact mathematic descriptions, and it meets difficulties when using it to research dynamic problems because Z.pawlak rough set has static characteristic. In 2002, S-rough sets (Singular Rough Sets) which has dynamic characteristic is proposed by Professor Shi Kaiquan in Shandong University by improving Z.Pawlak rough set, but S-rough sets also meets difficulties when using it to solve the system law mining and law recognition problems. In 2005, Professor Shi Kaiquan proposed function S-rough sets(Function Singular Rough Sets) which has dynamic characteristic and law characteristic by improving S-rough sets. The dynamic characteristic and law characteristic can satisfy the dynamic and law demand of detection systems, providing the theory base and a new research direction for the state recognition of detection systems.Function S-rough sets, which is based on function transfer, has dynamic characteristic and law characteristic, and has three forms: function one direction S-rough sets (Function one direction Singular rough sets), dual of function one direction S-rough sets (Dual of function one direction Singular rough sets) and function two direction S-rough sets (Function two direction Singular rough sets). The dynamic and law characteristics of function S-rough sets propose a new research direction and provide the theory basis for the research of detection systems. The main work in this paper is as following:1. Introducing the status, action and development of detection technology, and explaining the background, development, content and research direction of rough set theory, S-rough set theory and function S-rough set theory.2. Using the dynamic and law characteristics of function one direction S-rough sets and dual of function one direction S-rough sets, the concepts of F -law inference and its law mining, the law mining theorem of F -law inference, the law mining principle of F -law inference and its applications are proposed, and the concepts of F|--law inference and law identification, the theorem of F|--law identification, the principle of F|- -law identification and its applications are given.3. By intersecting and infiltrating between function one direction S-rough set and law hiding, law F -hiding is discussed, and the application is given; introducing the results into system state detection-recognition, the concepts of state departure and the distance of state departure are proposed, and the criterion of system state recognition and its applications are given.
