With the development of Internet, an effective and steady routing protocol will be an important factor to ensure performance of network. At present, the routing protocol inside domains is Open Shortest Path First version 2. In future IPv6 network, the routing protocol inside domains will be the extension of OSPF oriented to IPv6, OSPFv3. OSPFv3 has been attached importance to by many manufactures who are engaged in routing devices and software. But because of the transmissions in contrary to the former versions, there would be dangers in security in the new network. Therefore, it is a very important work to test the OSPFv3 routing products supplied by different manufacturers in order to verify whether OSPFv3 protocol implementation conforms to the protocol specification.Protocol conformance testing work includes two main aspects: Protocol Security Test System Development and Protocol Test Suite Generation. Our research work can be divided into two parts. In the first part, after studying OSPFv3, we design a kind of test suites by a customized language call TDS that can be executed by system. We also use Finite State Machine (abbreviated FSM) to generate the expected message in the process of interactions. Based on FSM model, we combine control and data flow to research automatic test case generation. In the second part, we design and develop a protocol security test system which can support the testing of OSPFv3 protocol implementations. Furthermore, under the environment of OSPFv3 experiment network, in approach of running the test suites on our protocol security test system to perform test activities towards OSPFv3 routing equipment, it is shown consequently that the result meet the expected scenario and the system is effective on OSPFv3.
