Development And Implementation Of Low-cost Industrial Wireless Sensor Network

The wireless sensor network is a revolution of information perception, collection and calculation pattern. It is a brand-new research field, having brought great challenge to basic theory and engineering studies. The tiny sensor node technology supported by MEMS and wireless communication technology give wireless sensor network a vast application prospect. The development directions of WSN are multifunctional, miniaturization, networked, intellectualization. Whatever, the WSN integrated many technologies will be the most important trend of the sensor technology development.This paper is based on the background of industrial applications, and targeted at data collection. The main task is to accomplish the design of wireless sensor network through study on technology and development of wireless sensor network.This paper first describes definition, characters, application areas, network architecture and present research work on wireless sensor network. Furthermore, it expatiates on protocol stack. Secondly, based on the needs of reliability, extensibility and low-cost etc., the paper brings forward the overall design proposal of the WSN system, which is composed of frame of root node and ordinary sensor nodes based on nRF905, network protocols, and PC software. The topology structure of the system is cluster tree, some moments later, it becomes a mesh. So the network has good extensibility. The design of media access control is based on dual channel. Finally, experiments of the designed WSN system accomplish the functional test of route detecting, networking, sensor node's data collection, and prove the validity of network protocols.
