Meteorological satellite is of great significance to weather forecasting, environmental monitoring, preventing and decreasing disasters, dealing with weather changes and so on. But because of satellite moving parts fault failure, it is a very outstanding issue that meteorological satellite has functional failure both at home and abroad at present. Therefore, how to carry on effective performance monitoring on ground, have a command of its vibration characteristics, and find out possible hidden dangers of satellite moving parts are of greater significance to the avoidance of fault failure after the satellite being launched as well as the enhancement of security and reliability of the satellite. Based on the research of"Health monitoring and reliability evaluating on meteorological satellite moving parts"by Shanghai space agency, this paper carry on the main work as follows:Fault feature extraction and vibration characteristics analysis for meteorological satellite scanning mechanism and rotation offset components empirical data under different working condition on ground are carried on by applying wavelet analysis and empirical mode decomposition (EMD) method. Furthermore, an analytical software system with real-time signal monitoring and off-line analysis function is developed based on Matlab and C++Builder. The influence of scanning mechanism driving voltage changes to moving parts' out-of-step failure and also the motor's out-of-step failure characteristics are analyzed. Fault feature of scanning mechanism moving parts are extracted and summarized by applying wavelet analysis and EMD method, which provides theoretical foundation for out-of-step failure diagnosis. Complex working condition of satellite after being launched, such as normal pressure and temperature and changing pressure and temperature in thermal vacuum tank are simulated through on-ground experiments. This paper research the rotation offset components vibration characteristics, which provides theoretical reference for mastering of rotation offset components' movement while the satellite is in orbit.Based on the above research, comprehensive comparison are done to two off-duty satellite, conclusion of preference are given and the conclusion is accepted in practical application, which provides theoretical support to satellite health monitoring. The developed meteorological satellite moving parts' monitoring software system is now under use in satellite on-ground detection, which lays the foundation to the development of health and reliability evaluating system later.
