As an applied technology of physical geography, well logging has a history of more than half a century. Nowadays, with the development of computer science and digital technologies, logging for oil field has already been a very important section for oil general survey,detection and exploitation.Well logging is an step-by-step-way formed frontier science with very strong theory and practicability which is based on variety of methods of modern physics (including electrics,acoustics,optics,calorifics,mechanics,nuclear physics,magnetics and etc.) to do an quantitative research on the phenomenas of oil characteristics of the reservoir spaces,sedimentary environment,stratigraphic sequence,structural geology and do the very specific detection of the inside oil well situations.During the logging process, there's lots of logging data turns out: like the well temperature,inside well pressure,acoustic curve,natural gamma ray,shade lateral,spontaneous potential and etc. Large quantities of data should be transmitted out of the well by different ways and then through the analysis,process and interpretation of those datas, we can have a comprehensive formation evaluation timely and effectively so that the whole well drilling process can be finished correctly. The data transmission is a very key part of the logging technology; meanwhile it's still the bottle-neck for the development of logging technology.According to this situation, the paper's discussing a new way of data transmission can be used in well logging system: DC carrier, there are only two wires connected between the ground and the down inside well. One hand, all the controlling instructions and data detected down in the well will be transmitted by the wire;on the other hand, the wire will be used as the power supply from the ground to the well. By taking this data transmission way, the transmission channel can be simplified, the cost will be lower down and the reliability of the whole system will be improved.This "combined" way of wired communication has began to be applied to the well logging system of Schlumberger,Halliburton and Baker Hughes step by step nowadays. With the development of science and technology, the way of using the DC line to transmit data will definitely become a new trend of data transmission way in the well logging field.
