Automobile as an important vehicle in the modern world, it brings so much convenient to people. Just as every corn has two sides, the traffic accidents also threaten the people's livies and property safety. Decrease the traffic accident and raise the safety level of road traffic becoming the crying request of the society. So study the vehicle active safety sysem based on machine version to decrease the traffic accident has an important academic and social meaning.Vheicle target detection is an important part of the vehicle active safety system.This thesis take vehicle target detection system based on DSP as my research object. I analysised bottleneck of the original system.Next, I discussed announcement of the system design and the rules of main chip selection. According to synthetical comparation I decided to take TM320DM642 as main processor of my system. Then, I gave the structure diagram of the hardware, and descripted each function module of the system.The hard ware depart of my system adopt the way of modularization. According to the application environment, I designed a vehicle power based on DC/DC mould, which supply +12V and +5V DC power to my system. I taken TM320DM642 as core of my system, designed power, reset, monitor, and JTAG circuits. I descripted the clock solution of my system, configed the work module of the DSP. In the video input/output module, I used TI's TVP5150 to decode video signal, and Philips SAA7121 to encoded my video image. DM642 control and initialize the video encoder and decoder by I2C interface. I expand FLASH and SDRAM memory by EMIF interface. In the aspect of data transimission, I use EDMA to realize it, in the process of my design I also thought of how to expel interfere of high speed electronic system in PCB design.I also designed the Display and Alarm module.On the realization of vehicle target detection algorithm, the thesie adopt the way of multiple features fusion. Accoring to the back character of the vehicle, such as shadow, shape, edge, symmetry, and so on. Decide to interfuse vehicle edge, bottom shadow and symmetry character to detection vehicle target. First of all, I preprocess my image with median filtering, then I used sobel operator to draw edge feature of vehicle target. Acording to the gradient and gray feature of the bottom shadow to detect the bottom shaodow of the vehicle.Then combined the grain feature of the vehicle, determined vehicle's general location in the image. Acording to the result of the bottom shadow and edge detection, added to the vehicle target's height vs width to determine the top dege of the target, determint the circumscribed rectangle. At last, I combined the symmetry of the vehicle, to test the result of the detection.At last, I configured initialization and designed the software of the system, debued the PCB circuit. Then I designed the experiment to test my system.The result of the experiment turned out that the system can work with long time with goog stability and reability.Next step of the study work will concentrate on the optimization of the hard ward and improvement of the algorithm. Then, study on the algorithms of the tartet recognition, tracking, ranging and so on. The main aim of the research will concentrate on fulfillment every module of vehicle active safety system.
