Orange industry has become a pillar industry of our country southern area's rural economy.But currently,the orange's classification is so much dependent on manual work and mechanism that the productivity is very low.Thus the research proposal about orange shape classification system based on DSP provides important foundation for subsequent size,color and quality classifications as well is of great significance in promoting commodity worth of Chinese fruit.In the head of the article,the hardware platform and software algorithm of orange classification system based on DSP are explained in great detail.The main work and achievement are following:1.the basic theories and methods about image preprocessing are introduced and the MATLAB software is adopted to fulfill the images' simulation including gray level transformation,median filter processing,binarization processing and contour following..2.the main method of image characteristics extraction is presented which emphatically analyzes the Zernike matrix and its related properties,and compares Zernike matrix's invariance and real time with these of Hu matrix by MATLAB simulation.Then a proposal is presented to describe the oranges' shape with Zernike matrix.Of course,the high-level Zernike matrix of oranges' images can be calculated and be identified with average clustering method to prove the availability of this method.3.the system's hardware platform is introduced.Explain the real-time videos and coding technology of CCD employed in orange classification system.Apply SAA7111A/D converter to decode the images.Adopt FIFO storage block to realize the images' quick storage.Analyze the coprocessor chip CPLD which is used to buffer the data transfer with DSP.Emphasize the traits and merits of TMS320C6211DSP,an image processing chip produced by TI,meanwhile,introduce its development platform.The orange classification system is worked with stepping motor drive by SCM with driving circuit.In order to make the system more portable, the CAN bus is applied between DSP and SCM,and a design method about CAN nodes is presented.
