TD-SCDMA, which is the homemade 3G standard in China, has received considerable attention and is believed to play a critical role in the development of China's mobile communication. The rapid growth of mobile applications in recent years has created a booming demand for data-rate and QoS. This strong requirement is pushing TD-SCDMA to evolve in order to provide higher and higher data rates. Long Term Evolution(LTE) being researched and standardized in 3GPP is to enhance and improve the system performance of current 3G with the matured technologies which can be adopted in B3G in several years. With the same feature of TDD, TD-LTE is definitely believed as a natural and wise choice for TD-SCDMA to evolve towards B3G in China. In this article, the trends of next generation technology of mobile communication are described. The protocols related to LTE physical layer has been studied. And in accordance with those protocols, the design of physical uplink and downlink channels, including shared channel and control channel is achieved. Regarding the special feature of TDD frame structure in TDD system, the application of HARQ procedure has been fully considered. Success of Building a link-level simulation platform for physical downlink shared channel using MATLAB software has made the simulation and verification of MIMO algorithm feasible. This article presents a process to verify the existence of channel reciprocity in TDD system.
