Research Of Radio Resource Management Algorithm For Cognitive Radio System

With the development of the mobile communication technology, the data rate has been increased from 10Mbps to 100Mbps, and will be increased to Gbps in the future. In order to satisfy the increasing needs for wideband wireless communication, we have to develop new transmission technology, provide different service with more wireless band. However, limited by the practical application and the lack of spectrum resource, we cannot meet the needs for wireless communication simply by developing new transmission technology. Otherwise, the spectrum resources which have been allocated to the existing wireless system are not fully utilized due to the current spectrum allocation method.Cognitive radio is an intelligent radio technology which is capable to find and use the spare spectrum bands. A cognitive terminal can examine, analyse, study and regulate the history and current condition of the sorrouding environment, adjust its transmission parameters and use the best wireless resources (including spectrum, modulation method and transmission power)The research direction of this paper is the radio resource management of cognitive radio system. It first introduces the conception of cognitive radio and the main research area in cognitive radio. Then, a detailed introduction to the research production is given. Finally, the paper summarizes the main topic of 802.22 protocol.The main contribution of this paper is the research production of the power control and cross-layer optimization technology in cognitive radio system. In this paper, two radio resource management algorithms are propopsed. By setting up static simulation platform, the advantage of the proposed algorithms can be demonstrated. What is more, considering the distributed manner of the cognitive radio system, the paper designs the distributed implementation method of the proposed algorithms which can be applied to the practical system.
