Performance Testing For Electronic Commerce System Of Ship Industry Based On TPC-W Benchmark

Electronic ecommerce (EC) is a burgeoning pattern for enterprise operation. Actually, EC has very important function for all of ship producing enterprises to enhance their market competitiveness. It may foresee, as the further development of electronic ecommerce, the consummation of some related statute and the larger extent of EC application, electronic ecommerce will apply to ship industry in-depth and ship enterprise will also enter into the age that web server is used as the main calculate instrument. Then, is there any uniform criterion to appraise the performance of these instrument or enterprise information systems? Now, this paper in allusion to the whole circumstance that the electronic information technology is applied to all fields of life, implement a performance testing tool. This tool is emboldened through the TPC-W benchmark which was brought forward in 2002 by Transaction Processing Performance Council. The tool will complete the performance testing for the Electronic ecommerce system which is under test.Firstly, this paper analyses the developing status of electronic ecommerce working in ship field in our country and abroad, expatiates the meaning of this research and provides the research scheme and some pivotal technology. Secondly, it lucubrates the ways and means and deeply analyses the parameter of the information system test. Thirdly, it expatiate upon all of the parameters in the TPC-W benchmark in detail, then probe into the method about how to collect the testing data during period of testing. Finally, a performance testing system is designed according to this paper, the testing system is strictly according to the require of the TPC-W benchmark. At the end of this paper, it provides the scheme of the whole system, for example, how to create the data which will be used for testing, and how to check up the consistency of these data.This performance testing tool can create plenty of Emulated Browsers (EB), these Ebs will send many requests to the web server at the same time. All of testing result will be sent back within the time which is settled before the test starting. The data which is sent back to the console will provide valuable information to the testing sponsor. The sponsor will maintenance and improve the information system under test according to these data.In the fifth chapter of this paper, it gives a summarization of the whole paper, analyses the correctness of the testing result relative to the benchmark. The summarization puts forward the shortcoming of the testing system, gives the settlement methods, then confirm the next research directory.
