With the development of electromechanical integration technology, the application of industrial robot become more and more widely.Because of so many advantages in robot welding, such as: productivity increasing, good welding quality, labor intensity reducing and so on, more and more factories begin to complete welding with robot. Obviously, it is an inevitable trend of developing weld-teaching with robot in university.A weld-teaching system was discussed in this thesis in details. The system aimd at guiding students to master the mode of welding path setting and also improving welding parameters design ability and so on.The mostly comonly used structure and driving plan of industrial robot were analyzed in this thesis. An economic, rectangular coordinate robot which has five degrees of freedom was put forward according to the characteristics of weld- teaching robot. And then, a control method was choosen after comparising three commonly used control system. The control method consists of host computer which was based on PC and motion control card and lower computer on the base of AT89C51 single chip microcomputer.Off-line programming and teaching programming were studied in this thesis, and then the corresponding function module was developed. The simulation of setted welding path by calling OpenGL function library and VB was also implementated. It provided a way in guiding students to realize the whole path-setting and motion simulation. The model of welding procedure parameters design belonging to Up-computer System was completedly studied and finished with mixed programming of VB and Matlab using DLL.Both hardware and software of control system were designed and implementated in this thesis at last. Sample data was collected by use of orthogonal design method, and then the verification experiment of welding parameters design model was finished.The results showed that the ideological of welding parameters design which was based on BP neural network was feasible. It provided a new way in improving welding parameters design ability for weld-teaching.
