Ground Penetrating Radar, used in roadbed non-desturctive detection, is one of the new developed technologies in recent years. Owing to its high measuring precision and reliable quality, it can meet the demand of detecting precision and has been widely studied and used at home and abaroad. The equipment provids a means of detection, and the matched software determines the breadth and depth of its application. It is important to research and develop these matched softwares because it has strong influence on interpretation of the result. The anthor tries to employ the beamlet transformation technology to precessing and analyzing the image data of GPR for realizing non-desturctive detection of cavities in the roadbed.Firstly, it studied popular image transformation technologies nowadays, compared the strengths and weaknesses of each transformation and highlighted the characteristics of beamlet transformation for its advantages in theory researching field. Secondly, it proposed to apply beamlet transform to make the result image more clearly and easier to determine the location and the volume of cavities that maybe lies in the roadbed. The algorithm maiuly consists of two steps: the first step is data acquisition and pre-proeessing. The matched software for GRP mainly transforms the data into peoper datatypes and remove noise component in the signal by the filters. The second is take matlab 7.0 as the developing environment to imply the beamlet transformation algorithm. Then apply the programmed software system to process the data which has just been pre-processing in the first step. Additionaly, the author decreases pattern noise by using the characteristies of reflected singals of roadbed, improves the accuracy of the result image. Experimental results proved the better efficiency of the method that the paper proposed. Ant it also decreases blindness and destructiveness in roadbed detection, reflects non-desturction.
