With the rapid development of wireless technologies, Wireless Networked Control Systems (WNCS) has become a research hotspot in the control field. A lot of study methods applied in wire networked control systems are inapplicable to WNCS because of variable network structure, random delays and packet losses. Based on the wireless networked characteristics, the cross-layer design of controllers and network in WNCS was studied in this dissertation, which would make the systems control optimization.The primary contents of this dissertation are as follows:1. The basic theory and development status about WNCS was introduced. The basic idea, methods and application background of cross-layer design was presented as well.2. The layers of network were confirmed and a control system model was proposed based on the analysis of network-layer parameters using network model and the communication of wireless network respectively.3. The optimal state feedback control law with random delays and packet losses was used and the optimal output feedback controller was obtained through the combination of the optimal state feedback with the optimal state estimation, which was achieved through separation principle. Subsequently, the method of dividing network lays was proposed based on data transmission in wireless networks, then based on the characteristics of data transmission, a Markov model of systems was constructed, and the performance index of control systems was given. The layers of network were designed with optimal performance index, which led to the achievement of cross-layers design of control systems.4. The process of cross-layer design was illustrated by a mathematical example, and the design result was analyzed through Matlab calculation simulation. 5.
