With the population of computer and the rapid development of the network technology, the laboratory supervisory control system based on B/S(Browser/Server) model ,which combines the traditional laboratory system and Web technology ,has attracted more and more attention on research and development. At present, most universities and research institution domestic and overseas are studying the work mechanism and key technology of the remote laboratory. They have built some demonstrate on remote laboratory. Some of these have been used. It would play a significant role in solving problem of large number students at school and lack of funds for buying enough experimental devices, exploring new experiment pattern, sharing expensive experimental equipments, and collaborating between universities, research groups, which may locate in different cities or different states.However, the research on remote laboratory is at initial stages currently. So some problems are still exited. For example, the needs of more further studies about the remote laboratory functional requirements, interaction mode between humans and remote experimental devices, management and maintenance methods, system architecture, and security strategies for Internet and experimental devices, etc. are not enough to improve or perfect. We develop a set of remote experiment system based on Web for this purpose. A survey of domestic and overseas research about remote laboratory is made firstly. Then some methods of research on laboratory are given, meanwhile, the paper designs the system based on B/S model. Then the paper describes the experimental system's hardware, server software and client software. According to the general scheme, detailed information on embedded controller based on ARM are given, which includes the development process of hardware and software. The main controller which is made of 4-channel signal conditioning circuit, serial communication circuit and ethernet interface circuit, is designed based on 32-bit microprocessor LPC2210. The controller system transplants real-time embedded system uC/OS-II, and achieves control process under the Intelligent Building of the central air-conditioning control system for analog signal acquisition and indoor temperature and humidity of the PID control according to remote user's command. Finally, the development method of remote server based on the ASP.NET is described. The realization of the experiment for remote client is given on detail, as well as the main user operation interface, some experiment are finished based on the operation interface on central air-conditioning temperature and the experimental devices humidity. The results of experiment show that the remote lab system can present the results or evaluation of control effectiveness based on the analysis of those recorded data.
