1. The research on supramolecular self-assemblies, structures and properties of coordination polymers has become an important current topic in crystal engineering because of their structural diversities, unique physicochemical properties and potential applications in catalysis, adsorption, separation, molecule identification, etc. The most effective route to control the array of molecule in a crystalline so as to get a perfect functional material is to build multiple-dimensional coordination polymer using a metal cation and an organic ligand as a building unit.In this paper, firstly, we synthesized four kinds of pyridine derivatives as an organic ligand. Secondly we take transition metals and these kinds of organic ligands as the research objects with hydrothermal synthesis and conventional synthesis as the experimental method to fabricate organic-metal hybrid crystals. We have got five kinds of crystal which were suited in carrying on the unit crystal diffracttion analysis by changing the concentrations of the ligands and the metal ions, pH value of solution, reaction temperature, time, etc. These crystals were characterized using the German company Bruker instrument CCD single crystal diffractometer. Zn(CHOO)3[NH2(CH3)2], Co(CHOO)3[NH2(CH3)2] and Cu(CHOO)3[NH2 (CH3)2] have the three-dimensional structure by the entire compound stack, but (CH2)8(COOH)2 and the O(C6H4COOH)2 have the one-dimensional infinite chain structure by the hydrogen bond connection.2. Using optical methods to selectively recognizing and detecting some metal's content in biological and the environmental system is an important research work in the biochemistry, the analytical chemistry and the environmental chemistry fields. Compared with other methods, the fluorescence analysis method has drawn greater attention due to its high sensitivity and better selective characteristic. Because that carbazole, triphenylamine and their derivatives have the strong fluorescence, they are widely used to identify many kinds of metallic ions in different systems.Based on classic designation principle of fluorescence-spacer-acceptor, two novel compounds were synthesized in this thesis, and were characterized using the following means, mass spectrometry (MS), nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR), and so on. The fluorescence properties of compound 5 in THF:H2O=1:4 mixed solvent was tested. The effect of different metal ions on fluorescent intensity of the compound 5 was investiged. The compound 5 showed an extreme selectivity for Cu2+ over other metal ions, the fluorescent intensity increase with the increasing of the concentration of cupric ion in THF:H2O=1:4 mixed solvent. The fluorescence titration relative to the concentration of cupric ion proved that compound 5 can form 1:1 stable complex with the cupric ion.
