The Design And Implementation Of Personal Firewall With Intelligent Packet Filter

With the rapid development of internet and information technology, people feel much more convenient in work, study and daily life,but at the same time,people should also see the negative impact of the development of network,and the impact of network security issues is particularly much more conspicuous. If people do not solve this problem very well,it will obstruct the process of infomationization. The things that understanding the threats of network facing to and solving them have become the most important affair.In this paper,the project was based on embedded software develop platform of the laboratory. The key of the project was on the researching of security defence and the abnormal handling mechanism. For the hidden danger of the embedded software platform,the project designed a firewall software application which based on Linux operation system in order to improve the security of platform.This article had researched the firewall packet filtering mechanism,and had selected Linux as the bottom system,then this article also analyzed the shortcomings of traditional packet filtering matching algorithm. At last the author had optimized the old algorithm and offered a new matching algorithm,then gived the implementation and emulation of the algorithm. The algorithm would be able to divide the firewall rules to different groups and matchting rules in each group. Therefore the algorithm have certain intelligent,this was so called intelligent packet filtering matching algorithm. At the last of paper,the author has introduced the steps of developing algorithm and interface of firewall,in the meanwhile,provided the test result of firewall.The key research of this article was analyzing the Netfilter/Iptables framework of firewall,then optimizing the old algorithm and developing firewall software.
