With the rapid development of Internet, it's used more and more widely. Information such as digital books, digital music, movies and pictures can be passed to terminal users via Internet quickly. Since these information can be copied, modified and even passed to others again easily, which causes a lot of problems that has some to do with the digital right of the information on the internet and harms the rights and interests of the legal info-makes and providers. To protect digital information and avoid pirate, Digital Rights Management (DRM) emerges and has become one of the hotspots in reseach of information security.The aim of DRM is to protect digital information from pirate and unauthorized distribution. It can combine with some kind of rules to manage the digital content. At present, each DRM model has more or less limitation when used in open environment. So this paper aims to design a DRM model that can fit the open environment well.This paper introduces the current status of DRM and analyzes existing DRM solution at first. In theory, the paper gives out the theory of access control model, analyzes the characteristic of open environment and presents a new model based on ABAC which is more suitable for open environment. To make it work better in the DRM model, namely bring the authoration based on attributes into play, this paper introduces technology about credential chain discovery and analyzes related algorithm that is adaptive to open environment. In order to make the model better support off-line browse function, this paper does some research about attribute based encryption (ABE). A new model called modern chain-based ABAC-DRM model is designed based on the model and technology presented above. The analysis of the model is given out in the end.
