Moving Target Tracking is central to the computer vision research which has a very important practical value and broad prospects for development in the fields like military visual guidance,robot visual navigation,inspection of industrial products, medical diagnosis as well as traffic monitoring.Due to the multiformity of the tracked target and the complexity of the environment,object tracking becomes a challenging research task,especially the blocking problems in tracking process are the keys to building robust algorithm.Based on the literature review of the moving objects tracking and the related issues of target detection,this thesis focuses on three research areas of Target Detection,Real-time Tracking of Moving Targets and Experimental System Establishment.In the research domain of Target Detection,this thesis analyzes the three common extraction algorithms(Background Difference Image,Frame Difference Method,Optical Flow Method) and summarized the advantages and disadvantages of theses algorithms as well as the application of this thesis itself.According to the video image processing features,the thesis takes advantage of the characteristic of strong correlation between adjacent frames,successfully extracting the target profile by using the frame difference detection method which is fast,easy to handle and to achieve the hardware implementation.In the research domain of Moving Target Tracking,the thesis summarized the common target characteristic and matching algorithms,with the focus on the mean shift algorithm(Camshift) and the realization of the program.Based on this,the integrative problem of speed and acceleration of the target tracking is researched;at the same time,detailed analysis of the extraction of features and searching process is fully discussed,improving the algorithm as a result.To the practical demand of work, this thesis provides a feasible scheme to achieve the automatic detection and tracking of the target.In the field of the establishment of experimental platform for the real-time detection and tracking system,we give a full explanation of the experimental platform of moving target detection and tracking system from the three aspects of hardware performance parameters,the composition of the structure and software development environment.Lastly,we put forward the moving target detection with tracking algorithms and programs to preserve the video image,playback based on VC++.
