As the founder of magazine-format documentary series,60 minutes has been regarded as the leading program in the world of television in-depth reporting for 40 years.Its success is attributed to their hard work and persistence in telling good stories.The pungent questions of interviewers,the delicate expressions of interviewees,the conflicts and the suspense are the characteristics of 60 minutes.Telling stories is a simple and ancient way.Telling a good story or not is a key to the success of a TV program.The paper studies TV narrative ability of 60 minutes in terms of Narratology.We analyze 60 minutes from the perspectives of narrator,narrative aspects,narrative time,narrative space, narrative structure and narrative skills.Through the research,we find out 60 minutes' success is the result of using all the means to tell a story.The ability of telling a story by TV is the narrative ability of TV,which is the very competitiveness of TV program.We have to study 60 minutes' narrative ability and how they tell good stories in a good way.The key to telling "good stories" is to search for good topics and narrators while the key to "telling stories properly" is to make good use of TV languages,correct aspects,reasonable structure and well editing.60 minutes sets an excellent example in all these areas.
