Research On Sports Video Events Detection

Video event is a series of activities happened in the video,and it's usually the semantic content that user interested in.Video event detection is to locate the position where the activities are happening,and it is an important mean for video semantic understanding.Sport video is an important video style,research of sport video event detection is growing up,but effective ways still need to be studied. Direct to sport video event detection,a rule based detection method is proposed. The elemental work of the paper is to design algorithm to extract the basic feature of the video according to the related stand of MPEG-7,and do the dimensionality reduction on the basic feature.Then do the shot classification based on the feature information.Finally,based on the labeled shot series a rule based detection method is proposed according to the characteristic of the video itself.
